Release Notes

What's new in Flowly.

Dated releases, straight from the project's GitHub history.

Version 1.0.2

Drag-and-drop and layout fixes

  • Fixed the Board view showing nothing at all when you hadn't used any Status yet
  • Fixed drag-to-reorder not working reliably across iPhone, iPad, and Mac
  • Fixed the sidebar's Tags and Status lists overflowing instead of scrolling when there were a lot of them
  • The sidebar on Mac can now be resized by dragging its edge
  • Dragging a Task to reorder it now shows a clear highlight for where it'll land
  • Added a Reorder toggle on iPhone/iPad so drag-to-reorder doesn't conflict with swipe-to-archive/delete

Version 1.0

Initial release

Flowly is task capture stripped down to what actually matters: type a line, tag it, and move on.

  • Quick Capture — every Task starts as a single line, with no forms, no required fields, and no setup
  • Inline Tags and Status — type #groceries to add a Tag or @waiting-on-sam to set a Status right on the capture line; Tags get an automatic color the first time you use them
  • One Board, no setup required — every distinct Status you've ever typed becomes a column on a single, app-wide Board; drag a Task to a new column to change its Status, or reorder columns directly on the Board
  • List view, too — the same Tasks are one tap away in a clean List view, with an optional compact-rows mode
  • Filter by Tag or Status — the sidebar filters your Tasks, and your List or Board, by any combination of Tags and Status, with live counts
  • Archive, don't delete — mark a Task done and it disappears from your active view; toggle "Show Archived" any time to bring it back
  • Inline dates and reminders — type a date or time inline to schedule a local reminder, with automatic sorting and overdue highlighting
  • iCloud sync — Tasks, Tags, and Statuses sync privately across Mac, iPad, and iPhone, with no account to create and no server but Apple's
  • Built for each platform — a persistent sidebar and resizable two-pane layout on Mac and iPad, a focused single-column flow on iPhone, and light and dark appearance
  • Try it free, then own it — full functionality free for 14 days, then a single one-time purchase unlocks Flowly permanently on every device signed into your iCloud account, with no subscription, ever
Flowly's earlier build history is below, pulled from the project's public GitHub commits leading up to version 1.0.

Foundations

  • Wired in Flowly's brand color palette and gave Tags an auto-cycled color of their own
